Continuous advances in electronic technology result in smaller circuitry. This in turn has created a new demand for a reduction to the diameter of cables which can only be achieved with thinner insulations.
Reduced Diameter Cables
To answer this call for a thinner, lighter and more durable insulation Hueson Wire began working with modified polyphynelene (mPPE). This highly engineered compound has characteristics of extreme durability as well as abrasion and pinch resistant. When submitted to UL testing found that a .008” construction of mPPE is compatible to a .030” PVC insulation and Hueson was awarded with several AWM styles.
Recognizing the potential applications for this new ultra-thin wall insulation we are now combining this insulation system with an assortment of jacket compounds to supply the thinnest cables available. These new reduced diameter cables are all UL Recognized and available in a wide assortment of AWG sizes and jacket constructions.
